A sustainable future requires smart and environmentally friendly solutions.Â
ARGONAUT will empower producers with an AI-driven tool to accurately assess the environmental and climate impact of bio-based products.
Several barriers are preventing the bio-based sector from reaching its full potential:
as their production involves intricate biological processes, often relies on variable biomass sources and permanently evolving technological innovations.
stemming from the complex and evolving character of the bio-based sector.
due to their high cost and the resource-intensive nature of detailed supply chain analysis.
puts this internationally recognised and widely used tool for environmental impact assessment out of reach for most small and medium-sized producers.
ARGONAUT aims at mitigating some of the crucial uncertainties affecting the bio-products sector and its stakeholders. By developing a digital tool able to gather, process and analyse considerable amounts of data about bio-products’ production systems and processes, ARGONAUT will provide users with a powerful tool to map out production options, optimise resource use and determine environmental impacts.
At the same time, by developing a tool integrating AI, blockchain, digital passports and a well-established environmental assessment methodology (LCA) in an accessible and user-friendly way, ARGONAUT intends to contribute to further incorporate digital technologies in the bio-products sector and assist in bridging the technological gap still affecting smaller producers.
