BREMEN CONSORTIUM MEETING: Developing an AI tool for tracking the environmental and climate impacts of bio-based products

The ARGONAUT project has successfully concluded its second consortium meeting, held on 28–29 January 2026 in Bremen, Germany. The meeting brought together partners for two intensive days of knowledge sharing, strategic dialogue, and collaborative planning at the Bremen Innovation and Technology Centre (BITZ) and was hosted and expertly organised by ATB-Bremen.

Partners from 6 countries gathered to assess progress and align on the ARGONAUT project’s shared mission: advancing 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗔𝗜-𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

During the first year of the project the architecture of the JASON tool has been set up under the guidance of the University of Ljubljana. In this second physical meeting project partners discussed all pending issues that need to be addressed in order to move forward with the development stage of the tool.

Key topics discussed included:

  • Data flows and added functionalities of the tool;
  • Development and integration timeline;
  • Stakeholders mapping and co-creation activities planning.

We remind readers that JASON, ARGONAUT’s AI-powered tool, has the goal of enabling producers to map production options, optimise resource use, and evaluate environmental impact with precision. The tool will empower them to make informed, sustainable choices through reliable comparisons of different value chain options and allow them to market their products in a sustainable way. Moreover, the tool will integrate advanced technologies, including AI, blockchain, and digital passports, bridging existing technological gaps and promoting sustainability across the bio-based industry.
