Use Cases

ARGONAUT’s use cases will be implemented around 6 bio-based value chains. Bio-based product value chains refer to the interconnected processes and activities involved in the production, distribution, and consumption of bio-based products. By adopting a value chain approach, ARGONAUT incorporates all the stages in value chains (cradle to grave), from the cultivation or extraction of renewable biomass to the end use or disposal of bio based products. This is beneficial as it allows for the examination of the ‘real’ environmental impact of bio-based products by incorporating all stages in the life cycle while also facilitating relatively easy integration within the Digital Bio-product Passport (DBP) framework.
